After using this site and the DVD 'An Ocr' for acquiring our basic language, come to Nead na Fuiseoige for the live show! Our foundation activities are guided by two trained, first-language Irish speakers for every group of new speakers, to give you high quality language-input and to keep the crack going.

You will be introduced to living Irish in the centre of Irish hospitality - the home.
Greetings, introductions.
The Kitchen, food and drink, cookery etc.
The body, clothing, movements, basic needs.
The family, relations, people.
The bedroom, getting up, washing, bathroom and toilet.
Directions (up-down/out-in, etc.), the stairs, indoor climbing.
Time, counting, days, week, months, seasons, feasts, etc.
Cause and effect - what happens next, the senses, comparisons, colours shapes, opposites, whats missing; whats wrong.
Lighting, stoking a fire, emergencies, exit procedure, fire-drill.
Post office, bank, shop, supermarket.
Health, doctor, hospital, health issues.
Feast-day, party.
The office, telephone, computer.
DIY, design, woodwork, furniture.
House-tricks, games, living entertainment.
Home-based arts and crafts: painting, sculpture, basket-making, pottery...
Foundation days, 1-5, will mostly use the above, with some of the following outdoor activities, all done through Irish.
