The soundfiles (1-56, below) of the sounds represented by the Irish alphabet are all taken from this site, mainly from the top section of this page. The sounds are the most important part of any language: they convey meaning and, if got wrong, communication is seriously hindered. This page should be returned to again and again for reference until you can recognise and pronounce them all with ease. Try to practice the sounds as much as you can. You will notice that there are a lot of 'repeats', so it's not as difficult as it looks! You can print the .pdf of this section so you can isolate the colour-coded sounds as you listen to them - but be careful not to 'read' before you have heard.
